Spotting Oxidation – The Test

Before we start the Ox-Knox demo, let’s talk about oxidation. If you’re not sure whether a surface is oxidized, here’s how you can check:

✅ Swipe your hand across the surface – If a chalky, white residue comes off, that’s oxidation.
✅ Look for uneven color – You’ll often see areas where bushes or trees have rubbed against the surface, creating lighter patches.
✅ Faded appearance – What looks like faded paint is often just oxidation buildup.

We spotted clear signs of oxidation on this painted metal building. The owner planned to repaint it soon, but what if Ox-Knox could restore the original color without painting? Let’s find out.

Ox-Knox Application – Step by Step

We grabbed a pump sprayer from Ace Hardware and got to work. Here’s how we applied Ox-Knox for the best results:

Step 1: Spray Ox-Knox Generously

🔹 We saturated a test area with Ox-Knox, making sure to get a good, even coat.
🔹 You want to keep the surface wet—don’t let it dry out!

Step 2: Let It Dwell (But Not Dry!)

🔹 We let Ox-Knox sit for a few minutes so it could break down the oxidation.
🔹 The key is keeping it wet—if it dries too quickly, it won’t work as effectively.
🔹 Since it was hot and sunny, we applied a second coat to ensure full penetration.

Step 3: Watch the Oxidation Lift Off

🔹 After a few minutes, we could see the oxidation running off—it looked like sweet tea dripping down the wall.
🔹 We did a finger swipe test, and the cleaned area was completely restored!

Step 4: Rinse Thoroughly with Super Pump

🔹 We used the Super Pump prototype on the truck to rinse the area.
🔹 This unit doesn’t have a pressure switch (yet), so we had to manually control the rinse flow.
🔹 After rinsing, the paint looked brand new!

The Results – Should They Even Repaint?

The building owner had planned to repaint, but after seeing the Ox-Knox demo, they might not need to.
