Ensuring Quality with Super Pump Testing

At Southeast Softwash, quality assurance is more than a buzzword—it's a priority. As of October 9th, we’ve been ramping up Super Pump shipments, sending out 15 units yesterday and about the same number today. But before any pump leaves our facility, it undergoes rigorous testing to ensure that it works flawlessly, delivering the high performance our customers expect.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we test each pump and make sure it’s ready for the field.

The Testing Process

Before shipping any Super Pump, we make sure it passes a series of tests. Here’s what we do:

Batch Testing: We build pumps in batches of 15 to 20, then bring them down for testing. Each pump is hooked up to our custom testing station, which includes a hose reel, circuit breaker, and battery. While it's nothing too fancy, it simulates real-world usage.
Performance Check: We run each pump through a hose and gun, ensuring it reaches the performance standards we've set. For the Super Pump, we expect it to shoot over 70 feet consistently. We mark out distances on the floor—60 feet, 70 feet—and test the spray indoors to avoid wind interference.
Archiving Results: Each pump is given a serial number, and we archive video footage of the testing. This helps us keep a record of each unit’s performance, ensuring that if there’s ever an issue, we can trace it back to the exact unit and confirm that it was functioning properly before it shipped.
Pressure Switch Tuning: The pressure switch is a critical component that allows the pump to stop and start efficiently. We tune each switch to ensure it’s hitting that "sweet spot" where it shuts off when it’s supposed to and doesn’t cause unnecessary wear and tear on the pump.

Why We Test So Thoroughly

Over the years, we've learned that many issues customers face with pumps are due to user error—whether it’s air in the line, power supply problems, or improper setup. By testing every pump thoroughly, we reduce the chances of unnecessary returns and ensure that our customers are getting a product that performs at its best.

However, if your pump ever seems to be malfunctioning, check the manual and make sure everything is set up properly. We’ve seen it time and time again—most problems are easily resolved with a bit of troubleshooting!

A Look Ahead: Super Pump Availability

We’re happy to announce that by the end of this week, we expect to have in-stock inventory of the Super Pump—a landmark moment for us. It’s been a long road catching up with demand, but we’re excited to have these pumps ready to go.
