Fuel Tank Options for the Gen2 Softwash System

...

What’s up, guys? Coty here from Southeast Softwash! Today, I’m excited to show you an upgrade option for our Gen 2 Skid systems—something that's going to make a big difference in your day-to-day washing operations.

A Look at the Gen 2 Skid Fuel Tank Options

If you've been using one of our 5-gallon fuel tanks, you're already familiar with the durable, aluminum-welded design that powers smaller washers like the 5 GPM models. These tanks do their job well, but when we step up to the bigger boys—the 8 GPM pressure washers—we need more fuel capacity.

Enter the 8-gallon auxiliary fuel tank. This beast is an optional upgrade and offers some serious advantages for your setup. Not only does it extend your run time by an extra 3 gallons, but it can also mean the difference between needing to refuel halfway through your day or just cruising through with a single tank.

Benefits of the 8-Gallon Upgrade

Here’s why I love this upgrade:

  • Increased Fuel Capacity: The extra 3 gallons can save you time and hassle, especially on bigger jobs. You won’t have to worry about topping off in the middle of a workday.

  • Built-In Fuel Gauge: It comes with a gauge on top, so you always know where your fuel levels stand—no more guessing!

  • Clean Install: The 8-gallon tank bolts right into place on our Gen 2 Skid’s shelf. It serves as a tidy divider between the two soft wash systems, keeping your setup organized and efficient.

  • Seamless Fit for Big Washers: Designed for bigger pressure washers, this upgrade is ideal if you’re using 8 GPM or higher models that don’t have their own fuel tanks.

Pro Tip: Always Keep a Spare

Even with the increased fuel capacity, I still recommend keeping a spare fuel can in your truck. A 3-gallon gas can is more than enough for those "just in case" situations when you need a top-off.

If you’re looking to boost your soft wash rig with longer run times and a cleaner, more efficient setup, the 8-gallon fuel tank upgrade for our Gen 2 Skid is a no-brainer. Keep your washer running strong all day without the worry of running dry.
