Saturday, June 7th – 5:30 AM. While most of the world was still sleeping, Coty from Southeast Softwash was already at the shop swapping vehicles and preparing for a day trip to the annual Blade Show in Atlanta with his twin boys — a family tradition built around their shared love for knives. But before hitting the road, Coty took time to walk us through one of the latest projects coming off the Southeast Softwash production line: the newest Poly 50/50 skid unit.
🔧 The Poly 50/50 Skid: An In-Shop Walkthrough
For those in the industry, you know Southeast Softwash doesn’t just build equipment—they engineer solutions. As Coty explains, this build is part of the ongoing transition from older equipment models to the next generation of rugged, field-ready systems like the Poly 50/50. The team, fueled by dedication and a few late-night shifts, had worked into the early hours (as late as 1:00 AM!) to make sure production keeps rolling without sacrificing the quality of existing customer builds.

No Delay Promise: Southeast Softwash is not holding back old-model builds to focus solely on new releases. The team is balancing production to honor all customer orders—new and legacy.

Tank Placement Strategy: Tanks for two other builds were staged and prepped for Monday, ensuring a quick continuation next week.

Lift Points for Ease of Transport: The newest Poly 50/50 comes equipped with permanently installed lift anchor points on all corners, compensating for the absence of skid runners. Using a strap with a D-ring, users can easily lift the unit with top-down support—a game changer for installation flexibility.

Compact Soap Tank Upgrade: This particular unit features a small soap tank placed on the driver’s side, optimized for ease of access and toggle selection with the Smart Stream system.

Smart Stream Integration: Installed directly on the working side of the rig for intuitive control. The full setup includes:

⚡ Free Upgrades for the Customer
One of the cooler surprises in this build? The customer is getting a free lithium battery upgrade. Coty explains how this battery had been floating around the shop—used occasionally in test rigs—and now finds its permanent home in this new build. Not only that, but the customer also gets a top-tier NOCO supercharger, valued around $450, instead of the standard charger.
