The Best Pressure Washing Trailer Option for Most Guys
Hey guys, Cody from Southeast Softwash here! It’s February 14th—Valentine’s Day 2025—and I’ve got a softwash setup that you’re going to love! (Yeah, I had to throw in a dad joke.) Today, we’re at an undisclosed location with an old factory vibe, checking out the latest addition to our fleet: the Striker Trailer with the newly added ladder rack option.
This setup is a game-changer for those looking for a more compact yet highly functional softwash trailer. If you’ve been eyeing a rig that combines power, convenience, and durability, stick around—I’ll walk you through all the features that make this one of my favorite builds to date.
The Striker Trailer: Compact Yet Powerful
The Striker Trailer has been a staple in our lineup for a while. It’s built on a 5x10 platform with tandem axles, making it smaller than our 6x12 setups but just as powerful. The major upgrade on this version? A full 2-inch tubing ladder rack—similar to what we offer on the 6x12 models. This gives you extra storage while keeping the rig sleek and easy to maneuver.
I love this size because it’s compact, making it easier to pull around while still packing the same punch as our bigger trailers. Now, let’s take a look at what makes this build stand out.
Key Features of the Striker Trailer Build
Softwash System Powered by the Super Pump
This setup includes our industry-leading Super Pump, designed for durability and high performance. On this particular layout, we’re using the standard version (no speed control), but it still delivers incredible efficiency for softwash applications.
The system also features our Batch Buster Blending System, which ensures precise chemical mixing, making your jobs more efficient and cost-effective. The blending system is mounted on an aluminum shelf with sturdy support legs for maximum stability.
Battery and Power Setup
Inside the battery box, we’ve got a set of Dakota Lithium batteries, providing reliable power to the entire system. These batteries are lightweight, long-lasting, and a great upgrade for any softwash rig.
Cold Water Pressure Washer
This rig is equipped with an 8 GPM cold water pressure washer, featuring a Honda belt drive. It’s plumbed to a 200-gallon water tank, ensuring you have enough capacity for extended cleaning jobs.
Hose Reels and Plumbing
On the operational side, we’ve installed three of our 18-inch Big Deal Hose Reels, featuring 3/4-inch internals for maximum flow:
-
Softwash hose reel
-
Pressure wash hose reel
-
Feed reel (brings water into the system)
Fuel Cell and Corrosion Protection
The aluminum fuel cell (approximately 11 gallons) is made by Boy’s Aluminum—a high-quality, heavy-duty option. For corrosion resistance, the entire trailer is coated with Raptor Liner, a tough polyurea bedliner coating similar to Linex. This protective layer extends the trailer’s lifespan, especially when dealing with bleach and other softwash chemicals.
Tailgate Modification
One of my favorite features is the chopped-off tailgate. We cut the tailgate down, reweld it to match the side rails, and then coat the entire frame in Raptor Liner. This gives the trailer a clean, streamlined look while maintaining structural integrity.
Chemical Storage and Downstreaming
In the back, we’ve got a stainless steel bleach tank box, which securely holds the bleach tank in place. Additionally, there are two auxiliary chemical tanks:
-
One for surfactant (used in the softwash system)
-
One for secondary chemicals (such as degreasers)
This rig also includes a Smart Stream downstream injector, allowing the user to toggle between different chemicals seamlessly. With a quick turn of a knob, you can switch between bleach for general softwash applications and degreaser for tougher jobs like dumpster pads and heavy-duty stain removal.
Why the Striker Trailer is a Game-Changer
This setup has quickly become my favorite softwash trailer option. It’s compact, easy to tow, and loaded with features that make softwashing more efficient and profitable. The ladder rack addition enhances storage without adding unnecessary bulk, making it perfect for both residential and commercial applications.
