Pressure Washing Job Recap: Front & Back Concrete Cleaning Success!

The Job Details
This particular job was pretty straightforward. I teamed up with Jacob for this one, so if you notice the surface cleaner looks a bit different, that’s why. Normally, I like to make two passes—one forward and one back—but with Jacob’s setup, we could power through the dirt much faster.
We were using an 8 GPM pressure washer and a surface cleaner with three bars instead of the usual two. If you’re interested in seeing a closer look at this setup, let me know! A Funny Client Story
The client for this job actually found me through one of my ads. They messaged me for a quote, and I sent it over… but then I didn’t hear from them for about a month and a half. Out of the blue, they reached back out and said, “Hey Justin, can you come out and do some pressure washing for me?” Of course, I said yes, and we scheduled the job.
This just goes to show that even if a client doesn’t bite on the first quote, it’s not necessarily a "no." Sometimes they just need time. Always follow up and stay on their radar. Eventually, they’ll call when they’re ready!
Job Execution: Efficiency is Key
With Jacob’s setup, we flew through this job. It took us about an hour, which is significantly faster than my usual setup—I’d probably need about two and a half hours on my own.
A common question I get is about curbing: Is it included in the job, or is it extra? It’s really up to your discretion. For this job, we were already making a solid profit, so when the client asked if the curbing was included, I just said, “Absolutely!”
While working on the back patio, I noticed the water was draining well, so I adjusted my strategy. I started at the top, but once I saw how the water was flowing, I shifted to washing the bottom first to avoid pushing water around unnecessarily. Good drainage made the job smoother, but always keep an eye on how water is moving—it can save you time!
Moving Furniture: Upcharge Opportunity
One thing we did on this job was move the patio furniture back after cleaning. This is a great opportunity for an upcharge. While it’s always better if the customer moves the furniture themselves (it saves you time), you can let them know upfront that moving furniture will come with an extra charge. The amount can vary depending on how much stuff they have.
For this job, I quoted it online and didn’t see the backyard until we arrived, so I had no idea how much furniture was back there. Having a flat rate for furniture moving can help simplify things.
