How I Landed A $250k Pressure Washing Job

...

Hello, my name is Mike, and welcome to All About Pressure Washing! Today, I’m excited to share how I landed a quarter-million-dollar pressure washing job. While it’s not the biggest job we’ve ever secured, it’s certainly among the top five. This job came through our strong online presence, particularly on Google.

Ranking high on Google requires mastering various components. If you’re interested in learning about the marketing side of your business and everything else needed to generate significant leads, check out SESW Softwash 101 class. This comprehensive training covers how to maximize your marketing efforts and business growth.

Now, let’s dive into the details. The job call came from a facility management company that constructs and manages warehouses nationwide. Based in Savannah, we have many warehouses due to the ports. Initially, I thought the job details were a typo—it mentioned two 1 million square foot warehouses needing pressure washing. However, after verifying the address on my Quote IQ app, I confirmed the buildings were indeed 1 million square feet each.

I scheduled a meeting with the facility’s representative, who was out of town but arranged for me to inspect the properties. For large jobs like this, it's essential to see everything firsthand to understand the logistics and prepare accurate quotes. This includes assessing truck courts, vehicle traffic, trailers, and water sources.

After gathering all necessary information, I sent over the estimate, and we got approval. Each building will be cleaned twice a year, with the roofs being addressed on the third cleaning. Building a strong relationship with the management company is vital, especially for long-term projects. Understanding their pain points and priorities ensures we meet their expectations and maintain a successful partnership.

During our walkthrough, it was clear that the main entrances, parking lots, and sidewalks required immediate attention. These areas are critical as they are the primary points of entry for office staff, visitors, and customers. Additionally, the areas around light fixtures needed extra cleaning due to bug accumulation.

Water supply was another challenge, with limited outdoor sources. We plan to use the fire hydrants spaced along the buildings to avoid stretching hoses over long distances, which could cause issues in the busy truck area.

Effective communication and collaboration with the property management and landscaping teams are essential to address specific problem areas and ensure thorough cleaning. These buildings will be cleaned every six months, and we aim to exceed expectations to secure more projects with this company.

A significant advantage of such commercial jobs is the flexibility they offer. We can schedule the work at our convenience, fitting it around our residential jobs and other commitments. This flexibility is especially beneficial during slower seasons, reducing stress and keeping our team busy.
